INFORMATION ON PARTICIPATING IN THE CLASS ACTION
Consider whether food you have stored in your home has been contaminated. Do not ingest any vegetables or fruit which were exposed to noxious fumes or to the fall out from the explosion, such as a vegetable garden and so forth.
Please take photographs of any damage to your property or contents and keep an itemized list of all expenses you incur, such as the cost of spoiled food, transportation expenses, accommodation expenses, meals, time missed from work, lost business revenues.
Do not speak with any representatives of the defendant, such as insurance adjusters or other investigators. If appropriate, please inform them that you have hired a lawyer and that they should contact your lawyer. It is recommended that you make a record/diary of all of the relevant events so that in the future, you will be able to remember precisely what happened. If you are making an insurance claim under an insurance policy, determine whether there is a deductible and if so, inform your insurance company, in writing, that you intend to participate in a class action to recover your deductible. Ask your insurance company to inform you if they intend to recover from the defendant’s insurance company whatever money your insurance company has paid to you. If so, ask your insurance company to include claim for your deductible, but be aware that you may have to sign a release which would prevent you from advancing any additional claims.
